About Us

We breed for both physical and mental soundness, temperament, health and breed type. We conduct full breed profile DNA testing through Orivet and will only breed with DNA tested dogs. 

Specifically we test for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (Papillon type), Neuroaxonal Dystrophy and Von Willebrands Disease type 1. Our puppies and adults have patellas and hearts checked yearly.

We put a lot of thought and effort into producing healthy dogs and pick studs (and new girls) based on a multitude of considerations, including temperament, general health and wellbeing, DNA testing results and conformation!  

We have several imports from America, Russia, Germany, Poland, Sweden & the Netherlands - genetic diversity is very important to us, as is procuring dogs of the type and temperament that fits into our ideals & will best suit our goals. 

Papillons are a beautiful breed who will steal your heart. They love to play and spend time with people of all ages. They are extremely intelligent, highly trainable, and do very well in performance sports such as obedience, agility, tracking, tricks and lure coursing! 

It is very important to us to find the most perfect homes for our puppies, and occasionally our older dogs. We have a questionnaire that can be filled out, but please bear in mind that we only keep a very informal waitlist, and puppies will be matched to the most appropriate home, not for who has been waiting for the longest.

If at any time, you are unable to keep a Sabelia papillon, please contact us, we will always take them back!

All of our pet papillon puppies come with tubal ligations or vasectomies as a matter of course unless otherwise negotiated. This is in order to fulfill South Australian requirements set out by the Dog and Cat Management Act.
